Just a Thought featured in Kia Ora magazine
Air New Zealand’s partnership with Just a Thought as part of their employee wellbeing programme has been featured in the latest copy of Kia Ora magazine.
New Zealanders’ mental health and wellbeing has been tested by the challenges of the past three years. With the healthcare sector struggling to meet the demand for mental health services, many are taking advantage of self-help tools, while organisations such as Air New Zealand have ramped up employee wellbeing programmes to provide the most effective, sustainable support to their people.
Air New Zealand has been promoting Just a Thought to their thousands of employees since we launched four years ago. The airline is also training its Peer Supporters to use our CBT resources and courses to help their colleagues. There are even talks of the potential of Just a Thought resources to be added to the airline’s inflight wellbeing offering for customers.
Just a Thought clinical lead Anna Elders says she hopes other organisations will emulate Air New Zealand’s use of Just a Thought.
“It’s an innovative approach to train Peer Supporters to use Just a Thought CBT tools to help their colleagues; it’s very innovative for a workplace. And research shows when there is that human support factor, people tend to be more motivated to complete more of the course and achieve better outcomes, whether the help is coming from a qualified health professional or support person. That’s the exciting part. The CBT tool delivers the psychological treatment. But the motivational support of peers is invaluable.”
We’re so proud of our partnership with this world-leading organisation and that it has been featured in the Kia Ora magazine.
